About Surry County
Surry County is a treasure of Tidewater Virginia, tucked between the James River and Blackwater riversheds, resplendent with trees and fields, wildlife and history. This community is not only beautiful, but offers a good value for land and investment opportunities. It is centrally located within an hour’s drive of both Richmond and Norfolk and has ready access to urban conveniences, as well as major employers, including Newport News Shipyard, Fort Lee and Dominion Power.
The historic triangle of Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown lays just a scenic ferry trip across the river. Farm land, timber and numerous waterways give the county its character and and attract hunters, boaters and investors. The character of the land also makes it home to the county’s residents and to people looking to escape to a slower pace and better quality of life.
